A new player in entry level or budget fight gear has emerged, and Elite Sports is happy to offer a variety of equipment at a great price point. If you order through Amazon Prime, you’ll have your Elite Sports equipment in 2 business days.
Elite Sports offers their Star short sleeve compression shirt in 6 colors, sizes small through 2XL, at prices between $18.99 and $29.99, and they match nicely with Elite Sports’ MMA shorts, Muay Thai shorts, gloves, and other gear. These rash guards are also IBJJF approved for official NO-GI competition.
First Look
The Elite Sports rash guard comes with anti-microbial treatment, a very nice feature for a rash guard, the graphics are fully sublimated so there’s no screen printing to wear out and fade. A feature I find very helpful is the anti-slip bands on the waist and sleeves. There is a large ventilated area on the back that works nicely as well.
Actual Use
The rash guard is pretty true to size as far as martial arts gear and rash guards are concerned, I used a 2xl rash guard, which was pretty snug, but felt good and stayed in place. I find that martial arts gear in general runs small, at least a size smaller than Under Armour brand compression gear.
The look and feel of this rash guard is as good as a rash guard that costs $10-$20 more, the fabric is good and thick, so it prevents scuffs and scrapes that some thinner rash guards and compression gear can’t prevent.
After quite a few training sessions, the rash guard was worn by me and then by my training partner, we both have nothing but good things to say about the comfort, performance, and look of the Elite Sports Star short sleeve compression shirt.
Summary
We thank the good folks at Elite Sports for providing this rash guard to review. This did not influence the outcome of the review, which was written after several months and rounds of training.
